Prosthodontists, today, have established a reputation as innovators at the forefront of new dental technologies and treatments. The need to keep pace with breakthroughs in dental equipment and techniques is further emphasized considering the prominent role that prosthodontists play as educators in dental schools and continuing education programs. Envisioning programs including setting standards for clinical diagnosis and innovations in digital technologies, as well as promoting epidemiological and clinical trials, is the need of the hour. Only when we set such goals, we can plan ways and means to achieve them. It is well known that planning with a futuristic vision is the mantra for success. Hence we have to prepare ourselves to face the challenges.

Indian Prosthodontic Society is in its 38 th glorious year of existence, and hence it is most important for us to have strategic planning in place for the progress of the society in general and its members in particular. It is indeed very important to have a farsighted vision and plan for the Indian Prosthodontic Society. For this we need to have strategies that broadly define approaches that the IPS will use to accomplish its mission and drive towards the fulfillment of the vision. The potential areas which need to be targeted are driving growth in prosthodontics and promoting curriculum innovation and reforms. Also, one of the important objectives is to promote and realize the power of science and technology.

For making our members empowered with contemporary treatment modalities and knowledge, we need to have a continuing education cell which organizes scientific meetings and workshops that impart value addition to one's knowledge and practice. Such self-development of a prosthodontist would help percolate quality contemporary treatment modalities and patient care at every level of our society. A human resources development cell could be set up to make an effort to fulfill every member's aspirations and requirements by custom-designed courses, special training, etc. The formation of the examination board is essential so that the board certification could ensure the credibility of our specialists. Today, without losing any more time, the board certification exam should be planned by IPS.

We have to gear up to steer the Indian Prosthodontic Society forward and develop a progressive and professional outlook, which not only looks into the progress and quality of prosthodontic care rendered but also augments quality education. Every patient has the right to have access to quality contemporary treatment and care. Enlisting board-certified practitioners, running postgraduate and diploma courses, providing product reviews and updates online can make the objectives of the society achievable. Today, the Indian Prosthodontic Society should stand ready to accept the responsibility for leading its members towards the fulfillment of a vision for 2020 and develop initiatives to enhance prosthodontic education, research, and treatment. So let us gear up for this task and keep the vision above any individual interest.[Figure 1]
