Introduction: Defects of Maxillofacial region either acquired or congenital continues to pose a major challenge for maxillofacial prosthodontist. Conventional treatment modalities did offer solution to such hard and soft tissue defects but with limited success and required complex clinical and lab procedures. With the advent of novel materials and technologies rehabilitation of patients requiring maxillofacial prosthesis has witnessed major improvements in esthetics, functional and psychological aspect of the patients.
Methodology: 62 years old female patient diagnosed with OKC on the left side of mandible which extended from left 2nd premolar to whole of the ramus including the condylar and coronoid process. Resection of the mandible (Partial mandibulectomy) was planned followed by reconstruction with customized, patient specific 3D printed implant
Conclusion: There is a paradigm shift from the old mass production of implants to the new customized patient specific 3 dimensionally printed implants with the use of titanium or PEEK, by this the surgical defects is reconstructed using a biomimetic design. Personalized rehabilitation procedure will definitely revolutionize the field of maxillofacial rehabilitation.
