Introduction: Cleft lip and palate often culminates in extensive soft and hard tissue deformity of considerable variation in its manifestation and severity. One of the popular techniques used to reduce the degree of cleft and offer predictable surgical success is the adoption of nasoalveolar molding presurgically.
Methodology: A 3month old child reported with a unilateral cleft lip deformity on the left side. With the use of molding late modified sequentially with the use of soft reliner, the nasal and alveolar segments were carefully approximated. In spite of reporting later than one month, there was considerable improvement in the overall tissue architecture. The use of carefully made impressions and eventual study casts proved effective means to compare the difference re and post therapy. After 6 months , the cleft was surgically repaired. There was minimal scar and tension , thereby resulting in improved healing and esthetics.
Conclusion: The case report is an attempt to highlight the significance of NAM in patients presenting later than the conventionally established age of one of month to carry put the molding.
