Introduction: The face is an extremely important segment in the esthetic composition of an individual. The upper front teeth has a termendous role in the facial esthetic. Various defects like peg laterals, discoloration on the facial surfaces of the anterior teeth, minor malpositioning of the upper anterior teeth, fine fracture lines, midline diastema, uneven incisal edges result in an unaesthetic appearance. Therefore to render the patient a more pleasant smile it becomes necessary for the clinician to provide a conservative approach to improve the esthetic. The most successful developments in this field are the veneers and its various techniques.
Summary: Veneers are the ideal parameter of cosmetic dentistry to provide maximum improvement in esthetic with minimum trauma to the teeth and it's a rapid, safe & conservative alternative to restore the esthetics & function of the teeth.
Conclusion: Dental art has long been a part of the quest to enhance the esthetics of the teeth and mouth. New emerging concepts in esthetic dentistry with regards to materials, technology and public awareness has made veneers on demands. As we are in the new era of veneers, this paper enlightens and emphasizes on different materials, methods and techniques regarding veneers.
