Introduction: In dentistry, AI (Artificial Intelligence) is used for different applications. It can analyze records, communicate with patients directly and book appointments. All of this is accomplished without human involvement.
Summary: AI is used in caries detection, large amount of radio graphs are analyzed and caries patterns are stored, and as a result, it helps general dental practitioners recognize caries lesions easily. But where are we now, as far as Prosthodontics is concerned
Conclusion: Augmented Reality (AR) is closely related to AI, with which it is possible to visualize persons' smiles in real-time, thereby helping in DSB (Digital Smile Designing). AR is used in Implant dentistry. In recent times AI - Artificial Intelligence, AR - Augmented Reality, ML -Machine Learning amongst others, is becoming a part of Prosthodontics treatment modalities. This paper strives to give the overview of conventional versus digital practices in this field. Change of scenario is very soon possible.
