It is with a sense of pride and humility that I am presenting before you the first issue of JIPS for the year 2009. Pride, because I have been given the honor by the members of the Indian Prosthodontic Society to be the editor of its premier journal, The Journal of the Indian Prosthodontic Society. Also, it is indeed a privilege to step into the shoes, though larger, of the past editor Madam Suhasini Nagda.
At the same time, I am humbled by the onerous task that lies ahead of me. At this point, I must compliment Madam Nagda on the wonderful work that she has done over the past ten years on this journal. The path has been made easy for me to tread on.
Keeping in pace with what the former editor had done for this journal, we always have looked at improving the quality of the journal. We have an editorial team that has a mix of experienced and enthusiastic professionals who have been waiting to go ahead with this job. Indexing the journal is the primary objective of the team. Under the leadership of the President Dr. Padmanabhan and the Secretary Dr. Rangarajan, we will make sure that this journal will be indexed at the earliest.
In order to index the journal, we require high-quality of articles in each issue. I am sure that all the members and students will support us and ensure that a new message is carried forth in each and every article.
Soliciting your unstinted support and looking forward to work with you.
